Locked & Loaded for Panama City Beach & The Spring Rally

Thunder_Beach_Motorcycle_Rally_logoI seem to be lagging behind on a lot of things this year.  We’re hardly getting any ride time in on the big bikes or the pedal bikes for a variety of reasons: weather, health, conflicts, you name it.  Mostly the weather and health of late.

However, I finally got around to securing our quarters at the Sterling Reef condominiums in Panama City Beach for early May and Thunder Beach.  Fingers crossed, we’re hoping the weather gives us a much-needed break for the ride to & from as well as at all points / times in between.  Although not covered in this blog, last year’s Spring Rally was dogged by intermittent rain and thunder showers on every day of the trip.  The Fall Rally was a bit more forgiving, but still interrupted the day’s plans with scattered showers and thunder storms.   And, as recently reported, our trip to the Spring Rally at Daytona Beach was an interesting collection of weather for the ride down and back, but Friday & Saturday were pretty awesome.   So, I’m thinking the weather gods owe us four days of nice weather for the Spring Edition of Thunder Beach!

Let’s see, 22 days and counting.  Can’t wait!!  The ride down is always a very pleasant trip: just something about spending most of your time on  state highways and vs. interstates.  As for what to do once we’re down in PCB, not a problem!  We’ve started to figure out how to fill our days with all kinds of riding, people watching and sight-seeing, all of which is exceptional therapy.

Not quite sure who all may or may not be going with us or who we’ll meet down there.  Our partners-in-crime have a potential conflict, so we may be flying solo and enjoying slightly warmer temps in our condo: it’s semi-private joke amongst the four of us.  Not sure what the other crew or parts thereof may be doing as they’re also in a count-down for a very different trip about a week after Thunder Beach which may keep some of them closer to home.

Well, on the bright side… Debbie and I can always have a great time just by ourselves!!!  Dang, I just love being married to that gal!  I count my blessings that I waited 32 years and got it right on the first try!!!  Life if Good!

About TG

I've been around a bit and done a few things, have a couple kids and a few grandkids. I tend to be curmudgeonly, matter-of-fact and not predisposed to self-serving chit-chat. Thankfully, my wife's as nice as can be otherwise we'd have no friends. My interests are somewhat eclectic, but whose aren't?
